I chose this piece because of how significant it is to the story of my growth as an effective communicator. The task was to make a technical report, presenting a solution to a Grand Engineering Challenge and it is my term project for my ENG 2003 course. This piece really pushed me out of my comfort zone because it was the first time I had to make a somewhat official technical report. I had to do a lot of research and even then the report wasn't complete. Research is nothing if it cannot be communicated to the crowd it is meant for and this project really showed me that. The best part of this project was getting feedback from my course mates. I appreciate feedback and reviews because they give a whole new perspective on topics, so feedback being incorporated into the project helped me to make it even more comprehensive because my course mates pointed out issues I would have never noticed. I believe this piece is one of my best because it was my first practical attempt at understanding the '3 x 3 + context' feedback model and the rhetorical triangle and it took me through all the aspects of technical writing. I loved working on the presentation because it took me out of my comfort zone while still solidifying my strengths.
